So this is your most expensive conversion. Hopefully that person is going to buy from you repeatedly, right? But then at that point, they've converted, right? You have their contact information. You can hit them by SMS. You can hit them by email. You can retarget them. Like all of those conversions are a lot cheaper. This is the most expensive one. You're going to get this one conversion. And then you're going to get the less expensive conversions down the line, which is really what you're looking for, right? That's how you make the most out of those conversions and start getting repeated…

that sure um i think with merch source it's easy to look at as an alternate revenue stream um but i think if you only evaluate it in that way tends to be a bit my outfit and you're missing the larger opportunity so if you're establishing a d2c platform merch store in this instance is also d2c um it can be a launching pad for referral codes for loyalty programs you know earning points and redeeming them into the store and so beyond engagement i mean it is number of consumers who have opted in to communicate one to one with us um and so we do measure success in those ways we measure success by…

i've seen way too many brands expand way too fast into retail assuming that a relationship with target is going to change their business and it actually hurts it what can happen is is that you ultimately end up on a shelf in a section there's slotting fees it costs money to sit on that shelf you lose margin for the whatever but we're excited we got this really big po and we're in 700 stores or whatever great you don't have demand for your products and no one knows who you are no one's gonna buy you there's no reason for them to know why you're different than your competition so sitting on…

But I have to assume that still, Amazon is taking their cut. So if you're making like a 30% margin, like in an ideal world with an NCAC at $15, let's say, or probably not at $15. But you're still giving half of that away to Amazon. So you have to be comfortable with that, but you're acquiring a customer which is owned by Amazon first. It's like then you need to transfer that initial customer back to your site so you can get them, especially if you have a CPG product or a product that's going to be purchased multiple times, or you have complementary products that you can cross-sell, upsell…
